Calling Haryana: A Guide to STD Codes

Haryana, a prominent state in northern India, is known for its capital, Chandigarh, and its major cities like Gurgaon (Gurugram), Faridabad, Panipat, and Rohtak. Understanding the correct STD (Subscriber Trunk Dialing) codes is crucial for seamless communication.

📞 Calling from Within India

To dial a landline number in any district of Haryana from anywhere in India, you must use a specific format. The "0" prefix is essential for trunk calls, directing the call to the correct long-distance network.

  • Dialing Format: 0 + STD Code + Local Landline Number
  • Example: To call a number in Gurgaon with the STD code 0124, you would dial 0124 followed by the local landline number.

🌍 Calling from Outside India

Calling Haryana from another country requires a different dialing sequence that includes the country's international access code and India's country code. This method ensures your call is routed internationally.

  • International Access Code: Most countries use + or 00.
  • India's Country Code: 91
  • Dialing Format: + or 00 + 91 + STD Code + Local Landline Number
  • Note: When calling from abroad, do not use the "0" prefix before the STD code. The country code 91 takes its place.
  • Example: To call a number in Panipat with the STD code 0180 from outside India, you would dial +91180 followed by the local landline number.
